An Introduction To GameGuru

As many of you are aware, I wrote a book right before this whole COVID ridiculousness on GameGuru.  It's been a long time.  Now we have GameGuru Max on the horizon and I'm lurking patiently in the background with little free time to myself. I've considered writing a second edition of the book but the fact is that this book was a massive time sink for me and I will never, EVER, earn any money on that time invested.  It was a loss leader, by far.  I got the feather in the cap I always wanted, which was great, but in the end if I had to do it again - I probably wouldn't.  It was simply too much time for not enough reward (not even close).

That said, I'm still proud of the work and happy with what I've done.  So I hope you all are enjoying it.

I may one day come back and work on GameGuru in a meaningful sense.  But right now I simply don't have the time.  I manage a farm now in my daytime hours, moved cross country, work at a pharmacy company as their Head Linux guy - it simply doesn't leave the time I'd like for idle work on games.

On that note...

A few of you have messaged me via this blog to request information on where to find the book's materials.

Here is where you can do that.

https://www.routledge.com/An-Introduction-to-GameGuru/Messina/p/book/9781138612631

If you scroll down there's a section called 'Support Material'.

Under that is a 233 mb zip file you can download with a wealth of Free Materials, lessons, code, etc.  A lot of my own resources from tgcstore.net are provided for free in that trove.

Lastly if you know someone who is interested in the book - they can get a copy this year using my special Author Discount Code for 30% off - simply use the code ADC30 on routledge.com!

Thanks and everyone take care.  Join the discord and keep an eye on projects.
